At Drs. Elias & Oakley, P.A., our mission has always been to provide compassionate, comprehensive, and personalized care to every patient we serve. Over the years, we’ve worked hard to remain an independent medical practice where you receive attentive care — the kind of care we want for our own families.
When you come to our office you will only be seen and treated by a board-certified Family Practice Physician as we do not utilize physician extenders such as physician assistants and nurse practitioners. After hours emergency calls to us are directly answered by one of the physicians. The doctors are also available by direct portal messaging. We have a number of urgent care appointments available each day and strive to see each patient who calls in for a sick visit within 24-48 hours. Keeping our patients healthy is our utmost goal, and we strive to have your experience with us be as compassionate, kind, and stress free as possible.
To continue maintaining this standard of service, we are implementing an Annual Administrative Services Fee (AASF) for all NON-Medicare patients. This modest annual fee helps offset the substantial amount of non-covered administrative work that occurs outside of your regular office visits — work that is not reimbursed by insurance, but is essential to providing quality, coordinated care.
What the AASF Covers
This fee supports the many services performed on your behalf outside of appointments, some services include: completion of forms, preparation of letters or reports not required for medical necessity, optional administrative assistance, replacement of lost or duplicate paperwork, practice infrastructure and administrative services not reimbursed by insurance including secure technology and administrative systems that support communication and operations.
Fee Structure
- $40 per adult patient per year
- $20 per patient 21 years of age and younger
The AASF will be billed annually. Please note that this fee is not covered by insurance and is not a concierge fee —We will continue to bill your insurance company for all medically necessary services in accordance with your plan. We accept insurance reimbursement as payment in full for covered services, subject to co- pays, coinsurance and deductibles.
Why This Change Is Necessary
This decision was made only after careful consideration. In recent years, the cost of operating a small, independent primary care practice has increased dramatically, while reimbursements from insurance and Medicare have remained stagnant — and in some cases, have decreased. Meanwhile, administrative demands and documentation requirements have expanded, particularly in recent years.
Rather than shorten appointment times, sell our practice to a hospital system which may charge more for physician visits, or compromise the quality of care we provide, we have chosen to remain independent and sustain our patient-centered model. The AASF allows us to continue this approach, ensuring adequate staffing and time to address your needs thoroughly and personally.
