What is Botox?

Botox is a purified protein. It is a nonsurgical, physician administered treatment. Botox cosmetic works by blocking nerve impulses, which reduces the movement of those muscles. The skin smoothes out and moderate to severe frown lines fade.

What is the treatment like?

The entire procedure takes approximately 10 minutes. It is a series of tiny injections with minimal discomfort. You may resume normal activity afterwards.

What kind of results can I expect?

You can expect to see results within days after treatment. The appearance may continue to improve for up to a week. Visible results can last for up to four months. After that, you may return for follow up treatment.

What are the side effects?

Patients with neurological disorders such as ALS, Myasthenia Gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects. The most common side effects include headache, temporary eyelid droop, and nausea. Other side effects can include pain, redness, and bruising where the medicine is injected. These effects usually go away within a week and usually go away on their own.
